Greeting the Fans, collage

These collage illustrations are from my second published picture book, Wink the Ninja Who Wanted to Nap. When I made the first Wink, I never thought it would be a series.  I was so excited when the publisher asked me to make a second one. I really love the art and architecture of Japan, and it was a pleasure to do research to make the book as beautiful as possible.  Unfortunately, the sales for this book were not great – and that was the end of the Wink series.

I cannot control the sales of my book, but I can do my best work and make books that I am proud of.  And failure also comes with good lessons.  I have grown as an artist and as a professional because of this book, even if it wasn’t a big money maker.
